Its official ! In it’s mailer, Audi India has confirmed that the A3 India launch will be happening in July this year. With the Audi A3 India launch scheduled to happen in July, the Indian subsidiary of the German car maker has commenced the bookings for the entry level sedan. The car was recently spotted testing in Mumbai by Teambhp member HKap .
The Audi A3 will be the cheapest sedan from the Ingolstadt based car maker to be offered in India. The new Audi A3 sedan has a styling that is distinctive of a typical Audi sedan and at first glance, the car looks like a mini A4. As already reported b us, the A3 will be sold in India via the CKD route. Upon launch of the A3 in July, Audi will have a upper hand on Mercedes which will also launch the CLA sedan soon.
The designers at Audi have done a remarkable job with flawlessly integrating a boot in the A3 hatchback. The A3 sedan’s wheelbase is 2.64m long and the car has an overall length of 4.46m and width of 1.8m. The A3 tips the scales at 1250 kgs and has a boot space of 425 litres.
- In the global markets, the entry level diesel variant of the A3 is powered by a 2.0 litre TDI motor that has a max power output of 150bhp and a peak torque figure of 320Nm. The motor enables the car to dismiss 0-100 kmph in 8.7 seconds.
- The base petrol engine on offer is a 1.4 litres TFSI engine that has a max power output of 140bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. This petrol engine enables the car to accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in 8.4 seconds.
- A more powerful 1.8 litres TFSI engine is also on offer. This engine produces 180bhp of max power and 250Nm of peak torque. This variant of the car can accelerate to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. Transmission options will be a 6-speed manual or the 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox.
The A3 will come equipped with Audi’s MMI system, a 7-inch screen, Adaptive cruise control, Lane change assist and Pre-sense safety.
