Audi has been testing the A3 sedan in India for quite a long time now. The car has been spotted on a numerous occasions and the cyberspace is filled with the A3 sedan test mule images. Now, the 2.0 TDI variant of the A3 sedan has been spotted testing in Mumbai.
The Audi A3 sedan will be the cheapest sedan from the Ingolstadt based car maker to be made available in India. Currently, the Audi Q3 with a manual transmission is the cheapest offering from the car maker to be offered in India. Audi India has already confirmed that A3 sedan will be brought to the country via the CKD route. Upon its India launch in the couple of months, Audi will have a upper hand on Mercedes-Benz which will launch the CLA sedan next year.
The 2.o liter TDI engine in the A3 sedan has a max power output of 150 bhp and a peak torque figure of 320 Nm. This engine propels the car to 100 kmph from standstill in 8.7 seconds. In the international markets, the A3 sedan is also available with a base petrol engine. This 1.4 litres TFSI engine has a max power output of 140 bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. This petrol motor enables the car to accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in 8.4 seconds. A more potent 1.8 litre TFSI motor, which produces 180 bhp of max power and 250Nm of peak torque is also available. This variant of the car can accelerate to 100kmph in just 7.3 seconds.
