Ather has just launched a new base variant of 450x priced at Rs. 98,000 On-road Delhi. The new base variant is cheaper than the Pro Pack by Rs. 30,445. The manufacturer has tweaked the feature list of the new base variant to reduce costs. However, the brand has discontinued the Pro Plus variant of 450x.
Updates in the Ather 450x
Ather has made several omissions of features to minimize the costs. The base variant retains the 7-inch touchscreen display but it features a grey-scale format. While the Pro Pack gets the multi-color format in the display unit.
Ather has deleted a multitude of connectivity features such as smartphone pairing, OTA updates, onboard maps and navigation, ride statistics, remote location tracking, etc. The base variant also misses out on Bluetooth, 4G, music & calls, guide-me-home light, fast charging, riding modes, etc. It gets only one default riding mode with similar performance as the Ride Mode of the Pro Pack variant. The charging time of the base variant is over 15 hours compared to the 5 hours 40 mins. of the Pro Pack.
Powertrain, Pricing, and Warranty
The base variant of Ather 450x uses a similar powertrain setup as the ProPack. Powering the 450x is a 3.7kWh battery pack making 6.4kW of power and 26nm of torque output. Its output enables the 450x to hit the top speed of 90km/h with 0-40 in 3.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the 450x base variant has a claimed range of 146km and gradability of 20 degrees.
Ather has priced the base variant of 450x at Rs. 98,000 On-road Delhi. The brand offers 3 year or 30,000 km of warranty on the vehicle as well as the charger. However, the battery warranty in the base variant is 3 years or 30,000 km, and for the Pro Pack variant is 5 years or 60,000 km.
