Ather 450 Apex Production Commences

Ather Energy kickstarts production of the Ather 450 Apex, unveiled in January at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

As the co-founder, Swapnil Jain, shared an enticing image of the Ather 450 Apex rolling off the production line, it marks the initiation of a new era for electric mobility.

The Apex Features

The Ather 450 Apex introduces a slew of innovative features that set it apart from its predecessors. Boasting transparent body panels and an exclusive Indium Blue paint scheme. The scooter is designed for those who crave a harmonious blend of style, performance, and sustainability.

450 Apex Specifications

At the heart of the Ather 450 Apex is a 3.7kWh battery pack, reminding of the potent 450X, propelling a motor capable of a peak power output of 7kW. This powerhouse promises an impressive speedo-indicated top speed of 100kph.

In the SmartEco mode, the Ather 450 Apex achieves a claimed IDC range of 157km, a testament to its efficiency. Engaging the Warp+ mode propels the scooter to the 100kph mark, accomplishing the 0-40kph sprint in a mere 2.9 seconds.

It’s noteworthy that this special edition Ather 450 stands alone as the only offering capable of hitting the coveted 100kph mark.

Commitment to Excellence

Staying true to the 450 platform, key elements such as seat height, wheelbase, tire sizes, and ground clearance remain consistent, ensuring a familiar and comfortable riding experience.

However, a groundbreaking introduction with the Apex is the enclosed belt drive system, poised to become standard across all forthcoming Ather models. Notably, retrofitting this cover to existing models is deemed impractical.

A Glimpse into the Future of Ather Models

One of the striking visual aspects of the Ather 450 Apex is its Indium Blue transparent body panels, offering a captivating view of the vibrant orange chassis beneath.

Beyond aesthetics, the Ather 450 Apex introduces an upgraded regenerative braking system, set to follow through the Ather model lineup.

This revolutionary feature empowers riders to bring the e-scooter to a halt by twisting the accelerator 15 degrees backward, eliminating the need for traditional brakes.

Vision Beyond 2025

While the production of the Ather 450 Apex is limited to demand, with the last unit scheduled for manufacturing in October 2024, it raises intriguing questions about Ather’s future endeavors.

As electric scooters become integral to sustainable urban mobility, Ather’s commitment to pushing boundaries and setting new benchmarks is evident.
