Mahindra Adventures has sponsored the vehicles for the ASEAN India 2012 Car Rally. The first ASEAN Car Rally was held in 2004 and in its latest edition, as many as 28 Mahindra and Mahindra XUV 500 vehicles have embarked on a journey that will take them through India and 8 ASEAN countries. The cars will travel for 22 days and will log 8,000 kms in total.
The rally consists of 124 participants from 11 different countries and was flagged off from Jakarta, Indonesia on November 26th. The participants will reach New Delhi on December 29th where the journey will conclude in a ceremony consisting of Prime Minister of India and Heads of State of 10 ASEAN countries.
Former Editor at BSM and Sr. GM at Mahindra Adventures is among the participants and recently updated his Facebook status as: “The Jet Airways check-in girl asked for our return tickets. There is ‘none’ we told her and also added that ‘we are driving back to India from Singapore’. To cut a long one short, we barely made it to the Airbus A330 as it took close to an hour to convince them that IT IS POSSIBLE. This trip is certainly going to be full of stories!”
