Aprilia has kickstarted the local production of the RS 457, at the Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited plant in Baramati, Maharashtra
This marks a production milestone, as the RS 457 becomes the first-ever Aprilia motorcycle made within the borders of India. Anticipated customer deliveries are slated to commence in March 2024.
Aprilia RS 457: Engine and Performance
At the core of the RS 457 lies a 457cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, boasting liquid-cooling and DOHC technology. The engine delivers an impressive 47.58PS at 9,400rpm and a torque of 43.5Nm at 6,700rpm, seamlessly managed by a six-speed gearbox.
Design, Features, and Specifications
Like it’s elder siblings the RS 457 sports a visually striking design inspired by the RS 660 and RSV4. Characterized by sharp lines, angular panels, and captivating daytime running lights, this true-blue supersport exudes aggression.
Technological prowess is evident through its five-inch TFT color display, all-LED lighting, ride-by-wire technology, dual-channel ABS, traction control, backlit handlebar controls, a quick-shifter, and three customizable riding modes.
Crafted with an aluminum frame, the RS 457 achieves a dry weight of 159kg, translating to a wet weight of 175kg. Further enhancing its performance are upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock, a 320mm front disc with a radial-mounted four-piston caliper, and a 220mm rear disc.
Aprilia RS 457: Competition
Entering a fiercely competitive segment, the RS 457 stands poised against formidable rivals – the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the recently unveiled Yamaha YZF-R3.
Priced competitively at Rs 3.18 lakh, it positions itself as an attractive option for riders seeking a blend of performance and style.
