Anand Mahindra, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, has been recognized as one of the prominent business leaders in India, who has turned Mahindra & Mahindra into a globally acclaimed company. He has been the reason for the developed partnerships between Indian and French automotive organizations such as Renault and Peugeot Scooters. The man is known for his wide-ranging expertise and is often called on to serve on various boards and committees. At the French President’s invitation, Anand Mahindra participated in the Strategic Attractiveness Council in Paris (17 February and 19 October 2014), which brought together 25 company heads from across the world.

Anand Mahindra, for his national and international achievements and initiatives at the helm of the Mahindra Group, has been conferred with the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) by Ambassador of France, François Richier at the Residence of France on 5th March 2016. This highest French distinction – the Legion of Honour is the highest civilian award given by the French Republic for outstanding service to France, regardless of the nationality of the recipients.

Apart from his numerous industry successes, Anand Mahindra is also known for his philanthropy and promotion of both primary and higher education. In 2014, Mahindra Ecole Centrale College of Engineering was founded in Hyderabad through the joint collaboration of the Mahindra Group and the Ecole Centrale Paris engineering college. Tech Mahindra is also rooted in France with a commercial office in Paris and R&D and engineering centre in Toulouse .
