On the occasion of the 70th birth anniversary of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Political Party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ‘Amma Scooter’ scheme in the state of Tamil Nadu. The Amma Scooter scheme will join various other benefits that are provided in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Under the scheme, women in Tamil Nadu can get a subsidy of 50% or INR 25,000 on purchasing a two-wheeler with a displacement of below 125cc. The scheme, however, will be limited to women who fit the following criteria:
- Women belonging to family with annual income below INR 2.5 lakh
- Women between 18 to 40 years of age can avail the subsidy
- Only one woman per family can apply
- Preference to be given to families run by women, widows, disabled women and transgenders
Women seeking the subsidy will have to download the application form and submit it with all the necessary documents to the authorities.
AIADMK and Prime Minister Modi will launch the Amma Scooter scheme on Saturday, February 24, 2018 in Tamil Nadu.
