Some days back, Fiat India announced its plans to launch the Abarth cars in India and pleased every Fiat car fan and performance junkie in the country. One of the first Abarth cars to come to us will be the Abarth Punto that will be launched later this year.
The Abarth Punto will be assembled in India and hence will be priced rather well at around INR 8-9 lakhs.
The India-spec Abarth Punto is likely to be powered by the 1.4-litre T-jet motor, albeit, in a very high state of tune. The motor is likely to pump out a good 165bhp, which is more than double of what the standard Punto petrol has on offer.
The car will also get stiffer springs, thicker anti roll bars and sportier dampers to aid all that increase in engine power. The Punto might also get upgraded brakes for the Abarth version. T
