The boffins at Tata Motors realize that they got it all wrong with the marketing that the Nano entry level hatchback got during its initial days in the very competitive small car segment of Indian car market. However, Tata Motors has now pulled up its socks and is working overtime to give the Nano a new lease of life in our car market.
While the Tata Nano facelift and the diesel variant look promising enough to change the fortunes of the slow selling car, Tata Motors has today launched a new marketing campaign that might help in boosting the sales of the entry level hatchback.
The new marketing campaign allows the buyers to drive off in a new Tata Nano by purchasing it in a single swipe of their credit card! The manufacturer says that the new marketing campaign is the fastest way to buy a car in a hassle free way. The buyers of the Tata Nano can also opt to purchase the car using their credit card and pay the entire amount in monthly instalments of INR 8,333 per lakh (which we feel is a tad on the higher side). Tata Motors has entered into an agreement with Axis Bank, HSBC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Standard Chartered Bank for this special scheme.
The new offer is ongoing at 75 Tata Motors dealerships across 26 cities.
It will be interesting to see if the latest marketing campaign will be enough to push the sales of Nano until the advent of the diesel variant.
