Maruti Suzuki is gearing up with the much-anticipated launch of the all-new Swift, internally codenamed Maruti YED is set to hit the production lines next month

Just like its predecessor, the upcoming Swift will roll off the assembly lines at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. Known for its widespread popularity, the Swift averages an impressive 18,000 units a month.
Brace yourselves as the new Swift aims to raise the bar, with sources hinting at a monthly production target of around 20,000 units. While an official India launch date remains undisclosed, insiders suggest a thrilling debut by April 2024.
Design and Interior Elegance
The allure of the Swift lies not only in its performance but also in its timeless design. Staying true to its roots, the new-gen Swift maintains the sporty aesthetics that have been its hallmark since inception.
The latest iteration, unveiled in Japan last year, showcases a sharper overall design, featuring familiar yet refined bodyshell, headlamps, and tail-lamps.

Despite appearing similar to its predecessor, the 2024 Swift boasts subtle size enhancements. It’s 15mm longer, 40mm narrower, and 30mm taller, with an unchanged wheelbase of 2,450mm.
These specifications, based on the Japanese model, might see slight adjustments for the Indian market.
Interior Sophistication
Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a dash of sophistication. The dashboard draws inspiration from the Baleno and Fronx, with unique styling differentiating it from its counterparts.

Beneath the sleek exterior, the 2024 Swift promises a sporty ride, thanks to Suzuki’s new Z12 engine. An all-new 1.2-litre petrol powerhouse, this engine, debuting in the India-bound Swift, incorporates mild-hybrid technology. Slight modifications in power and torque output are expected to comply with varying emissions laws.
What’s Next: Maruti Dzire
Breaking away from tradition, Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce the Swift before its Dzire counterpart. This strategic move aims to rejuvenate the Swift brand, allowing it to take center stage with its revamped design and powertrain in the Indian market.
