Kia Seltos facelift

2022 Kia Seltos Facelift Breaks Cover!

After innumerable spy shots, Kia has finally revealed the 2023 Seltos facelift at the Busan International Auto Show. The mid-size SUV gets cosmetic changes on the inside and out and also gets more equipment. The facelifted Seltos was also recently spotted testing in India. We expect the Seltos facelift to go on sale sometime next year. Let’s take a look at what’s new:

Design

The front fascia gets a few changes which makes the Seltos look much sharper. The tiger-nose grille gets updated detailing inside and it gets silver surrounds. The overall layout of the LED headlights remains the same. However, the DRLs now get an updated signature like the Carens wherein it merges into the grille. The ice cube foglamps have been carried over from the pre-facelift version and the silver skid plate has now been updated to make it look beefier.

The side doesn’t feature any major changes other than the 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear gets some major changes which make it look similar to the Kia Telluride. The updated LED taillamps are connected by a thin LED strip with the Kia logo in the middle. The bumper is new as well with a different design for the reflectors and the silver skid plate is more prominent than before.

Interior

The overall layout of the interior is the same as before, however, Kia has made some changes here and there. The center 10.25-inch screen has now been updated with Kia’s latest OS and it also gets a curved design. Just like before, the center screen is connected to the instrument cluster which is also an all-digital unit now. The automatic climate control is a new unit as well and the center console now gets a rotary selector which frees up some space. Just like the current Seltos, the facelift comes loaded with features like remote start/stop from keyfob, heads-up display, UV cut glass, front parking sensors, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, ventilated seats, electric driver seat adjustment, Bose sound system, TPMS, 6 airbags, TCS, HLA, ESC, etc. It also gets ADAS which is rumored to make its way to India.

Powertrain

The engine options in the facelifted Seltos are expected to be the same as the pre-facelift version. The current Kia Seltos is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 114 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, a 1.4-liter GDi turbo petrol engine which churns out 138 bhp of power and 242 Nm of torque, and lastly a 1.5-liter diesel engine which produces 114 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The engines get mated to a 6-speed manual as standard along with options of a 6-speed torque converter, 6-speed iMT, CVT, or 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox, depending on the variant.
