You must have already read our report of the new Ducati 939 Supersport debut scheduled at the 2016 Intermot show on October 4, 2016. It is the same motorcycle which Ducati tried to keep a secret while showcasing it to a select few at the World Ducati Week. The upcoming motorcycle, as reported earlier, will be a street focused product and will be propelled by Ducati’s 939cc motor.

The official images of the upcoming motorcycle were leaked merely hours before the official launch and here’s what the Ducati 939 Supersport looks like. The motorcycle will carry a typical Ducati supersport silhouette but apart from some components from the Italian marque’s existing line-up, the 939 Supersport will be a brand new product. The 939 Supersport will be built around a trellis frame which can be seen peeping out from the full fairing. The headlight design is quite different from the Panigale motorcycles which will give the 939 Supersport a distinct identity. As seen in the images, a massive LED pilot lamp runs over the two-pod headlight. Mirror integrated front blinkers give this Ducati a clean look upfront.

The chiseled fuel tank looks massive as the lines dip sharply towards the single piece saddle. The 939 Supersport will be street focused and that single piece saddle should be comfortable during city rides or highway hauls. But we would reserve our thoughts on that front till we take the motorcycle out for a spin. The saddle does remind us of the Monster 821’s seat with the optional cowl. Interestingly, the motorcycle gets a single sided swingarm which comes as a surprise given the fact that it will sit below the 959 Panigale.

The motorcycle, codenamed Project 1312, will be available in two variants – Supersport and Supersport S. Few weeks ago, Apart from all the equipment from the standard model, the Supersport S will come equipped with adjustable Öhlins suspensions and a removable rear seat cowl.

Quattrino had earlier confirmed that the engine will be tuned to be really, really smooth because it will be a sportsbike with road focused performance. The Testastretta 11° 937cc liquid-cooled engine is expected to deliver 113 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 97.9 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Other features on the 939 Supersport will include ABS, three rider modes – sport, touring and urban – 8-level traction control and Diablo Rosso II tyres. A multifunction, all-digital LCD display will offer a plethora of information. Also, as seen on the display, you can connect your smartphone with the motorcycle using Bluetooth and control features such as music.
