Hero MotoCorp has quietly updated the Hunk for 2016. Prices for the 2016 Hero Hunk face-lift start at INR 69,725 for the single disc brake equipped variant and INR 72,825 for the top-end variant with dual disc brakes.
Cosmetic changes to the 2016 Hero Hunk include a choice of new paint-jobs with fresh body graphics, along with a redesigned instrument console. In addition, the tail lamp gets LED power and a white lens, while the exhaust heat shield is new. The 150cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine now produces 15.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 13.5 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm, as compared to its predessecor’s 14.2 bhp and 12.8 Nm of torque. It also breathes better, thanks to the inclusion of new viscous air filters.
The new instrument console is dominated by a large, red-faced tachometer with an integrated digital window that reads out speed, time and odometer figures. The console also also gets a chrome trimmed, thick border which also features a new side stand indicator, apart from the tell tale lamps. An analogue, standalone fuel gauge is placed to the left.
Dimensionally, the 2016 Hero Hunk remains unchanged at 2080 mm long, 765 mm wide, 1095 mm high, while sitting on a wheelbase measuring 1325 mm. The refreshed motorcycle tips the scales at 146-147 kg (kerb), while ground clearance is rated at 163mm. Braking hardware at the back has also been updated, with the 2016 Hero Hunk receiving an optional 220 mm rear disc brake. The standard variant continues with a 130mm rear drum brake, along with a 240 mm front disc brake. The 18-inch ally wheels are wrapped with 80/100 tubeless tyres up front and 100 / 90 tubeless tyres at the back.
The 2016 Hero Hunk is offered in 6 new colors, which include Bold Brown, Panther Black, Matte Black, Ebony Grey, Force Silver and Blazing Red. The 2016 Hero Hunk is expected to launch later this month, with stiff competition coming from the likes of Honda CB Unicorn 160, the new Honda CB Hornet 160R, the Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ-S.
