As promised, the 2015 Suzuki Ertiga, or the Maruti Ertiga facelift was unveiled in Indonesia yesterday. Visually, not much has changed, but the face-lift gives the timid looking Ertiga a major confidence boost. A bolder front fascia should give it better presence on our roads when arrives in October this year, while subtle changes to the rear and interiors freshen up old flavors a tad.
The grille has grown, becomes a 3D-effect element, and now sports swathes of chrome, be it on the borders, or on the middle slat. The new front bumper adheres to Suzuki’s new design philosophy, and features deeply contoured surfacing. It also includes a bigger air dam and re-designed fog lamp enclosures highlighted by chrome bezels. Old headlamps will continue to illuminate the road ahead.
The rear end gets a new chrome applique over the registration plate recess, which bears embossed Ertiga lettering. While the tail lamps continue unchanged, new L-shaped reflectors flank them, enhancing the visual width of the people mover. The Maruti Ertiga face-lift also gets new 10 spoke, 15 inch alloy wheels.
The insides now get a dual tone (black + brown) dashboard, along with new dark brown coloured gear knob, seat fabric and doors trims. The dashboard, door trim and steering wheel also get dull silver highlights. New features include electric folding mirrors, ‘auto up’ power window on the driver’s side, and a 12V power outlet for the second row. The 3rd row seats now come with a 50:50 split fold, while twin airbags have been standardised across the range as well.
A total of seven exterior colours will be available with Ertiga facelift, which inlcude Graphite Gray, Radiant Red Pearl Metallic, Burgundy Red Pearl, Silky Silver Metallic, Cool Black Pearl, Snow White Pearl and an Indonesian specific Lilac Gray Metallic.
In Indonesia, the 2015 Suzuki Ertiga will be offered in three trim levels – GA, GL and GX. Power will come from the familiar 1.4l K Series petrol engine (K14B), which is good for 92 PS of maximum power, 3 PS less than its predecessor, and 130 Nm of maximum twist. A 5-speed manual, or a 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels. The slightly detuned power output means fuel efficiency figures will also shoot up north. In India, both petrol and diesel power will continue to be available.
