So this is IT! Seen here on this page is a set of official images of the highly anticipated 2015 Mercedes C Class. While Mercedes haven’t officially released the pics we have here and these were leaked online by Diariomotor, the images do their job pretty well with revealing the way the next gen C Class would look like.
Basically, the new C Class (which has been codenamed as the W205) looks much like a smaller version of the new 2014 Mercedes S Class and this should really appeal to those in the market for an entry level luxury sedan.
The upcoming 2015 Mercedes C Class is based on a new MRA (Mercedes Rear wheel drive Architecture) platform and is expected to be as much as 80kgs lighter than the current gen C Class. Also, it is being said that the car would have 90mm longer wheelbase.
On the inside, the car will come with a curvaceous dashboard, which would boast of typical Mercedes three air vents arrangement. The car will also come with several new high end features and gizmos, such as the new gesture based touchpad and Head Up Display.
Not much is known about the engine options but we expect that the next gen C Class would come with:
- 2.2-liter CDI four-cylinder diesel with power ranging from 170 HP to 231 HP
- 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol with 156 HP
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol with power ranging from 184 HP to 252 HP
- 3.0-liter V6 with max power of 333 HP
It is highly likely that the next gen 2015 Mercedes C Class would make its public debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in January next year.
