It is a widely known fact that Fiat-Chrysler group’s Jeep brand of vehicles are headed our way. We reported in detail when the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee test mule was spotted testing in Mumbai and now, another sighting of the 2014 Grand Cherokee has been reported by the folks at IAB. The Jeep vehicles have been spotted in India on several occasions. Some of you might remember that we became the first in the country to catch a trio of Jeep vehicles testing in Pune.

The 2014 Grand Cherokee, that has been spotted testing, sports revised front & rear end styling and comes with some new features. The Jeep Grand Cherokee facelift sports sleeker headlamp units that come equipped with the quintessential DRLs and a revised front grille. The rear of the car too has been redesigned and gets clear lens tail lamps and chrome exhaust tips. The manufacturer claims that the new rear end makes the car more aerodynamic.

On the inside, the updated car comes with a new upholstery and a new UConnect infotainment system. Other that this, the car also gets a 115V power inverter, dual zone aircon on all models, ambient lighting, more ergonomic HVAC Controls, redesigned instrument cluster and steering mounted pedal shifters.

In most markets it is sold in, the car comes with following engine options-

  • 3.0 litre V6 diesel
  • 3.4 litre V6 petrol for base model
  • 5.4 litre HEMI V8 for higher variants
  • 6.4 litre HEMI V8 for SRT.

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee will come to India via Completely Built Unit (CBU) route and it is anybody’s guess that it will be equipped with the  237bhp 3 Litre V6 turbo diesel engine for Indian car market. This engine variant gets the new ZF 8 speed auto ‘box for transmitting all that power to the four wheels.
