2013 BMW X6 Facelift Launched in India @ INR 78.90 Lakhs

BMW India has launched the 2013 BMW X6 Facelift in Indian car market today. The 2013 BMW X6 facelift comes with new features package and some cosmetic upgrades. The car made its debut at the New York International Motor Show that was held earlier in April this year.

Talking about the styling upgrades, the facelift comes with a new front grille, revised fog lamps and headlights, new design 19” mag wheels and as is the norm, a couple of strips of LEDs.

Exterior Design changes

  • New BMW kidney-grille with three-dimensional chrome frames and angled slats
  • Repositioned fog lamps
  • New LED taillights
  • Optional bonnet with powerdome for a more muscular appeal

On this inside, the car gets revised leather upholstery and an updated iDrive system.

Interior changes

  • New Nevada leather upholstery available in a choice of Beige, Black, Oyster/Black, Saddle Brown/Black and Vermillion Red/Black.
  • Finewood Ash Grain, Finewood Bamboo Grain Dark, Aluminium Flywheel Black and Aluminium Fine Brushed interior trims
  • New BMW X6 is offered in Alpine White as a non-metallic color and the following metallic colors – Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Marrakesh Brown, Midnight Blue, Space Grey, Orion Silver, Titanium Silver and Vermillion Red.

The 2013 BMW X6 Facelift is available in India in two variants – xDrive40d and xDrive50i. The former, which is the high selling diesel version, is priced at INR 78.90 lakhs and the petrol variant is being offered with a sticker price of INR 93.40 lakhs (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).

Engines and transmission

Diesel

The diesel variant, the xDrive40d, sports a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine which a healthy power- output of 306bhp. The X6 diesel is capable of a 0-100kmph run in 6.5 seconds. The diesel variant has a top whack of 236 kmph.

Petrol

Powering the new xDrive50i is a 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo V8 petrol motor that produces a max power output of 407bhp and peak torque output of 600Nm. The manufacturer claims that the car can dismiss 100 kmph speed figure from standstill in a very quick 5.4 seconds and the car has a top whack of 240kmph.

Both the motors are seen coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The new eight-speed sport automatic transmission performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. The standard Sports Leather Steering in the new BMW X6 also features Shift Paddles for facilitating more convenient manual gear shifts.

The progressive character of the new BMW X6 is further underscored by the extensive range of driver assistance systems like the BMW iDrive with BMW Navigation Professional, Park Distance Control and Rear-view Camera with Top View.
