Honda’s much awaited MPV, the Mobilio was officially launched in India last month. Honda has high expectations from this MPV. We feel that Mobilio has remained true to expectations as the Japanese manufacturer said in a press release that over 10,000 models of the MPV have already been booked.
Speaking about the phenomenal response received to the Mobilio, Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing &Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “We are extremely happy with the progress we have made in this year. Our recently launched Honda Mobilio has received good response from the market with over 10,000 bookings since its launch and are confident that it will attract more customers with its strong desirable values.”
The 7-seater MPV will be available in 3 variants which would be offered in Petrol and Diesel. A premium RS variant is likely to hit the showrooms in September.
The petrol variant of the Mobilio will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC unit that would produce 117 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque. The diesel variant on the other hand will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine which would put out 98 bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque. But it is the fuel efficiency that will be the USP of the Mobilio as the MPV is rated for an Arai tested 24.2 kmpl on diesel and 17.9 kmpl for the petrol variant.
