Mercedes C Class vs Mahindra XUV

Mercedes C-Class vs Mahindra XUV500

People just don’t know when to stop. When these yuppies in their W204 Mercedes C-Class saw a Mahindra XUV500 driving pretty hard on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, they decided to challenge it – on a busy, public highway. Not only did they lose the “race”, they even managed to put their lives at risk, along with other road users.

Both cars reach speeds over 190 km/h, and at one point, the Mercedes almost rear ends a Hyundai, as the driver couldn’t predict which way to go after the XUV cuts him off, leaving a gap in traffic that ceased to exist as soon as the Mahindra weaved dangerously through.

The driver of the Mahindra that instigated the duel can also be seen driving like a buffoon, cutting lanes and overtaking from the left side at barely legal speeds. While its commonplace to see such boy-racers driving mainstream cars to their limits on these roads, it’s appalling to see such behavior draw positive reactions when posted on social media.

Though we condemn these kinds of acts, we were pleasantly surprised that the Mahindra punched its way ahead of the Mercedes. However, we don’t doubt for a moment that the 140 PS strong 2.2-litre diesel engine is strong enough to push the XUV500 to speeds nearing 200 km/h. Take it to the track guys.

  1. /long rant/

While reading comments on Facebook I realized most of the Indians are special kind of idiots. Rather than ridiculing the dangerous act they are praising XUV for keeping up with C-class and feeling proud for being India.
    A message to those idiots:
Don't you dare to compare the Indian trash with German masterpieces. Forget 190kmph, crashing on 60-80kmph is more than enough to turn every passengers into a crushed watermelons. This attitude “Yo! Yo! my cheap ass Indian super car Maruti Swift does 180kmph+ so it must be good as a Mercedes” is the reason why I witnessed 5 fatal accidents on highways in just a year. All 5 of them were in Maruti – either Swift or Swift Desire.
Now, in motorcycling scenes majority of KTM owners are also maintaining the legacy by racing with these idiots on highway because Powerdrift told them how awesome there bike is – how KTM does 190s while its one-cylinder motor cries like a bitch.

Driving is all about going from point A to B “safely”. Go for trackdays if you wish to finish point A to B first.
    – idk who said that

Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.

  2. As a proud owner of the XUV myself, I can't help but praise the capabilities of the machine, but anywhere above 120 kmph the thrill is overtaken by the fear due to the danger & risk involved, for another day lived is another day in love with my XUV. Life is very very precious, I wouldn't waste it for such thrills. That said… it is heartening to see such performance by our homegrown manufacturer's SUV challenging a renowned manufacturer's sedan.
