The Jazz is Honda's only premium hatchback on offer, with prices starting at INR 7,35,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Jazz looks modern, stylish and offers a good amount of features. Powering the Jazz are tried and tested petrol and diesel engines, where the former also offers the choice of an automatic.
The Jazz is the only hatchback in Honda's portfolio for India. A product which focuses on practicality and convenience, the Honda Jazz also looks distinct in the company of conventionally-styled hatchbacks which it competes with. It now comes equipped with some premium looking elements such as a chrome grille up front, a chrome band at the rear along with chrome door handles. The Jazz has a total kerb weight of 1,115 kgs and turns around within 5.1-meters. The Honda Jazz also gets sporty looking 15-inch alloy wheels, nice looking headlamps up front along with fog lamps which are embedded into a blacked-out insert. The rear of the Jazz now flaunts new LED tail lights, a rear wiper, spoiler with a stoplight and Honda badging.
No longer offered with those "Magic Seats" it earned quite a name for, the Honda Jazz now gets a blacked-out cabin which looks quite premium. The car looks small on the outside, but it provides a spacious cabin which can easily accommodate 5-passengers a once. The car also offers a sufficient amount of storage spaces which includes cupholders, bottle holders, side pockets and 345-litres of luggage space. The centre console gets a 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatibility. The climate control unit is handled by a touchscreen control panel. The features which make the Jazz best in class in its segment is advanced multi-info combi meter, paddle shifters (CVT), phone charging sockets, driver seat height adjuster, drivers armrest and cruise control. Overall, the all-new Honda Jazz offers a roomy cabin and comes loaded with advanced features to make your everyday commuting hassle-free.
The Jazz is built on Honda's ACE body structure which is built to absorb heavy shocks in the event of a collision. It comes with standard safety features such as ABS with EBD, driver and passenger airbags, rear parking sensors/ camera, driver seat reminder and speed sensing auto door lock.
Under the hood, the 2018 Jazz is powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC, petrol unit which churns out respective power and torque output of 90 ps at 6000 rpm and 110 Nm at 4800 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox. The car also gets a 1.5-litre, i-DTEC diesel mill which cranks out 100 ps at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. The diesel unit comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol unit is fuel-efficient and is rated for 18.7 Kmpl, and the diesel engine returns a mileage of 27.3 Kmpl. While the i-VTEC petrol engine has earned its repute as a peppy and fun motor which loves to be revved, on the other hand, the diesel engine makes considerable noise that creeps into the cabin. However, it scores high on driveability and is seriously fuel efficient. Fuel tank capacity for the Jazz is measured at 40 litres.
Honda Jazz price starts from INR 7.41 Lakh to INR 9.36 Lakh.
