The Ford EcoSport face-lift, due soon, will feature an all-new dashboard design, amongst other changes. This spy picture from China reveals the new dashboard design, which looks more upmarket compared to the current dashboard of the EcoSport. The layout is entirely different now, with a new, stacked centre console that sandwiches the rectangular HVAC vents between a fresh infotainment system (still no touchscreen) on top and the rotary controls for HVAC below.
A dual tone colour scheme (beige + black) sets the mood right, while the multifunction steering is also all-new. So is the instrument cluster, which has been redone with more flair than the one in the current model, with a fairly comprehensive MID between the speedometer and the tachometer. The side vents and the gear lever seem to have been left alone. Its still not clear if this fresh dashboard will remain exclusive just to the Chinese EcoSport face-lift, or make a worldwide début with the face-lifted model.
For China, the Ford Ecosport face-lift is likely to be powered by a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine good for 123 hp, and a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine rated at 110 hp. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual or 6-speed Powershift DCT gearbox. The EcoSport face-lift, which is expected with a new front fascia as well, will be locally manufactured at Changan’s plant in Hangzhou, China.
