Launch Control helps, and so does the M Twin Power Turbo V8 petrol engine, mated to the same seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission.
In its wake, the bullet (M5) shatters a huge glass apple and slashes massive balloons of water (with its roof-mounted shark-fin). All this is captured in gratuitous slow motion, against the backdrop of a huge desert/salt flat and the slightly synthetic noise of the new M5.
