Video: 2012 Nissan GT-R shows off its launch control system

Have you ever seen a supercar take off in a full blooded manner? A major amount of a supercar’s energy is wasted in, well, trying to put down its own power on the road while taking off. Slithering, slipping, spewing tons of smoke and leaving a pair of darkies – that’s not how you should launch if you want to win, right? Now GT-R is not considered the grand daddy of all supercars for no reason. Just have a look at this video depicting the Launch Control system of the 2012 GT-R at work. Christened the R-Mode Start Function or the LC4 R35, the system lets the GT-R get off from standstill like a slingshot.

No wonder then, that the car sprints to 100km/h from a standstill in 3 seconds flat. Check out this cool video to see for yourselves.
