Tonino Lamborghini, not to be confused with the hallowed Italian car marque founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini, Tonino’s father, has launched its new premium smartphone called the 88 Tauri, following earlier reports. This luxury smartphone will be up for sale by late December, at a staggering price-tag of $6,000 (approximately Rs. 3,71,500).
The Tauri 88, designed in Italy, is made of steel (available in Gold, Black or plain steel colors) and leather (available in Black, Blue, Red, Orange and Brown colors) complete with decorative stitches, along with a centrally placed recognizable raging bull logo, which was inspired by the Taurus constellation. Only 1947 units of the 88 Tauri will be made, to commemorate the year 1947, when founder Tonino Lamborghini was born.
The 88 Tauri will support dual-SIM with both the SIMs active at the same time and will support 4G LTE networks. The phone also features a 5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, while a 3400 mAh battery guarantees up to 35 hours of talk time and 1,000 hours of standby time. The luxury phone supports expandable storage via micro SD card (up to 64GB), and sports a 20-megapixel rear camera, with 8-megapixel front camera.
