It’s a pity we don’t get the Isuzu MU-X in India; instead we have to settle for the older MU-7, which looks like a wrinkled grandfather in comparison. The MU-X is sold in Philippines, and comes with a turbodiesel engine, all-wheel drive and a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. It looks great too, with contemporary styling, unlike the MU-7’s dated lines. This particular example, however, looks more badass than Bruce Willis does in Die Hard.
Owned by Douglas R. “Doug” Kramer, a Filipino basketball player, this MU-X has been done up by Jeff’s Off-Road, an aftermarket 4×4 mod shop based in Baguio. The MU-X gets a lift-kit, beefy Rocker Bar bumpers that can easily sustain landmine blasts, Nitto Mud Grappler tires that grapple with more than mud, and sharply styled alloy wheels.
Everything gets the blacked out treatment, including the badges, while the slats on the grille and the mirror caps have been done up in matte black, matching the bumpers’ hue. Jet black tints on all windows complete the badass-ness. Rest of the details are scarce, including the interior and performance upgrades, but it’ll be one intimidating sight when it shows up in your rear view mirrors.
