SPIED: Export version of Mahindra Genio/Xylo double cab

We have heard a lot about Mahindra readying a four wheel drive version of the Xylo. Recently, the good folks at motorbeam caught a double cab version of the 8 seater MPV.  We already have a ‘based on Xylo’ pickup, the Genio, in our market. Soon, we will also have a ‘mini’ Xylo, a 5-seater hatchback variant. Mahindra has its plant at Nashik and the vehicle was spotted with MH15 (Nashik) test plates. The double-cab pickup has 4-doors and a large loading bay. We are sure that this vehicle is an ‘export only’ model as the test mule was a left-hand drive model (check out the format of the windscreen wipers).

The Genio is already on sale in India and once abroad, the Xylo double cab will have to battle hard with the Tata Xenon, which is currently on sale in many international markets.

  1. yes i have seen it in leh ladakh, with xuv5oo, a getaway life style of scorpio, and xylo version of uv, all of them are left hand side drive, the xuv5oo was checking the emission level, but the other was there for check, so i am sure in terms of reliability and tuffness, it will beat xenon, but in terms of features and looks, xenon has some edge…….the rest will depends on customer ….
