King Khan is living the high life, deservedly so. When he’s not basking, be it in the spotlights on the sets, or in the glory of being the “Baadshah of Bollywood”, SRK seeks refuge in his new vanity van. DC Design made him this one, and they’ve done a darn good job.

Called the Shah Rukh Khan Workspace by DC Design, the base is set by a Volvo B9R multi-axle bus. The exteriors, all 14 meters of it, are thoroughly re-skinned by DC Design. The front end is split into two by a vertical spine and gets new headlamps, a massive windscreen, along with a new bumper. The sides get flush fitting windows, while the rear features protruded ridges, elongated tail lamps and a large DC logo, which makes its presence on the front end as well.

But it’s inside where the magic happens. The heavily customized, lavish interiors would put an Etihad business class cabin to shame. Divided into four partitions, which include a meeting room, a bedroom, a toilet, a kitchenette, along with a make-up and changing room, the vanity van’s opulently appointed innards sprawl over 280 square feet. The dark coloured, glass flooring is squeaky clean, while integrated LED streaks along the floor brings the future right to SRK’s footsteps.

The wooden ceiling and the beige coloured walls hosts custom ambient lighting, while the interiors also hide an extra room, which comes out using a hydraulically operated slide out system, liberating another 80 square feet of space – a common feature on high-end motorhomes. Other luxurious appointments include on-board WiFi, air-conditioning, satellite TV with 3 screens, and a 4000 watt Bose audio system.

The whole vanity van took about 45 days to build, which is nothing short of spectacular, given the amount of detail this portable palace has. The running gear has been kept intact from the Volvo, with power coming  from a 9 liter, turbo diesel engine with an in-line 6 cylinder layout, good for 340 bhp and 1,600 Nm of peak torque. Shah Rukh Khan’s new vanity van purportedly costed him INR 3-4 Crore, chump change for the superstar.
