Motoclubz – Inddiethumpers

This month Motoroids caught up with ‘Inddiethumpers’ – the Royal Enfield club from Mumbai. Here’s all the important information about this club.

Q) When and where was the club formed?

A) In 2001, Daman, Rasik and few others started off by meeting at carter road in Bandra ,where we used to chit chat about life, bikes, etc. Later on, we started going on weekend rides and having a blast. This is how the Inddiethumpers was formed.

Q) How often do members meet up?

A) We are irregular when it comes to club meets. It ranges from once, twice or zero in a month depending upon upcoming events. However, we are very active online. We make it a point to ride at least once a month in a big count.

Q) Which aspect of riding is the group more into?

A) The core aspect of our club is to ride together. Group riding is not just fun, but it’s also an experience. At times there are breakdowns or accidents and in such an incident no one ever feels lonely or left alone. We all ride together and help each other tackle any issues that come in our way. Later on, we also party together.

Q) What distinguishes this biking group from others?

A) Well, we are Inddiethumpers!! That itself distinguishes us from the rest!!

Q) How many riders are currently associated with the group?

A) At present we have about 150 to 200 riders in the club. Also, we got about 500- 600 more aspirants who are awaiting approval to join in. Guess they will have to wait quiet a bit to get into the club.

Q) Where is one most likely to see the group in action?

A) One is most likely to see us on the highway on our weekend rides and at other times at parties when we reach the campsite for the night. We make it a point to have a blast and do not allow anyone to ride back home after the party. We don’t drink and drive. Furthermore, one will never see us in action, doing a city ride as we do not fancy any publicity from these rides.

Q) Is there any biking hierarchy within the group?

A) No. There are two club moderators, who take care of the mundane group activities and make sure everything is under control. There are no seniors or juniors, w are all Inddiethumpers. However, if any critical decision has to be made, the Mods have full authority to do so on behalf of the club and everyone abides by it.

Q) Are there any requisites to joining the group?

A) Yes. One must own a Royal Enfield bike and has to survive minimum two official rides with the club.  This just makes the person eligible for the club, but does not mean that the person is an Inddiethumper. After few fun-filled ragging sessions and many more club meets, we get to know if the rider is a Thumper material or not. If he is, then he gets into the club.
