Bajaj Auto launched the new clan of Avengers in October last year. That included the Avenger Street 150, Street 220 and the Cruise 220. The 220s retain the same, but tweaked, engine from its predecessor while the 150cc Street was built around an Pulsar 150cc powerplant. In the market, the three are offered in just one colour scheme each, with the Street duo in Matt Black (220) and Midnight Blue(150) and the Cruise 220 being offered in Divine Black colour option. And now the automaker has introduced a new colour option for the Cruise 220, the Desert Gold.

The cruiser gets the new golden shade on the front wheel fender, fuel tank, side panels and the rear section. In order to complement the new body colour, the seat and the back rest also get a new shade of brown. Apart from these, the rest of the bike remains the same. The cruiser, in its new livery, has already reached dealerships and showrooms and is up on sale with no changes in the price – INR 83,197 (Ex-Showroom Maharashtra).

The Cruise 220 draws power from a 220cc Twin-spark, 2 valve, DTS-i oil cooled engine that makes 18.76 Bhp at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm of max torque that kicks in at 7,000rpm. For now, Bajaj has got the colour upgrade just for the Cruise and we hope that the Street duo get their share of update as well. The new Avengers were well received by the Indian market and the maker made good numbers with the sales and profit.
Now, with this new Desert Gold option, Bajaj plans to attract more attention towards their Cruise. The bike will surely attract a lot of eyeballs but will it help to attract customers is the question. Well it is about time to find out.
