And yet again, the Ford EcoSport gets a price-hike in India! Worth mentioning here is that the Ford EcoSport came across as very competitively priced back when it was first launched in the country. The car stepped into our car market at an introductory price of INR 5.59 lakhs for the base petrol engine, with the top end EcoSport Diesel Titanium (O) retailing for INR 8.99 lakhs.
However, thanks to the very high demand, which saw Ford finding itself highly incapable to cater to all the orders on time, the manufacturer resorted to a price hike soon after the launch of the vehicle. Now, Ford India, which still has a huge backlog of orders for the EcoSport, has come up with the second price hike for the popular compact SUV.
The top of the line Titanium (O) diesel variant, which costed INR 8.99 lakhs back when the car was launched, costed INR 9.37 lakhs after the first price hike and now, Ford India’s website has listed this model at INR 9.74 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi).
Ford EcoSport India price list (revised)-
Some very basic calculations reveal that the EcoSport has got dearer by up to INR 75000 in last 6 months! The Ford EcoSport price rise across all variants is around INR 64,000. The increase in prices makes the EcoSport all the more closer to the XUV500, prices of which now start at INR 10.95 lakhs for the newly introduced W4 variant.
Currently, the India spec Ford EcoSport is on sale with three engine options – 1.5-liter petrol, 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol and 1.5-liter diesel.
