Mercedes Benz USA President Steve Cannon recently tweeted pics of test mules of the upcoming 2014 GLA Class and the S-Class Coupe. These test pics were taken at the Death Valley, where the upcoming Mercedes cars were undergoing hot weather testing. Stave tweeted,”Another day In Death Valley! 110 degrees . . . “
Enough has already been talked about both the upcoming Mercedes Benz cars but it is for the first time that a Mercedes top official has confirmed that the CL Class replacement will be called the S-Class Coupe. He further added that “It’s amazing!” (We bet it is!)
The S-Class Coupe will sport a sleek exterior design with flowing lines and some soft curves. The car should very well be the sportiest variant of the new S Class. List of engines to be offered could include-

The GLA Class, which will be a new entry-level crossover model in Merc’s product portfolio, would battle with the Audi Q3 and BMW X1 and is likely to be offered with following engine options:
- A 1.8-liter diesel with 134 HP/100 kW of max power and 300 Nm/221 lb-ft of peak torque
- A 2.1-liter diesel with 168 HP/125 kW of max power and 350 Nm/258 lb-ft of peak torque
- A 1.6-liter petrol with max power of 120 HP/90 kW and 154 HP/115 kW in a higher state of tune
