A Lamborghini is not the first vehicle that comes to mind when you picture a road high in the Himalayas. Yet, that is exactly where Lamborghini took its Urus SE. The Italian brand has completed its first Esperienza Terra India, a six day drive across Ladakh. The trip reached roads above 5,300 metres and brought 18 customers together.
Ladakh was the main stage
The drive started in Leh, where the group spent time getting used to the high altitude. From there, the route covered famous places and tough mountain roads.

The route mixed smooth roads, gravel sections and rough mountain stretches. These conditions showed how the Super SUV works away from city roads.
What makes the Urus SE special?
The Urus SE uses a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine with an electric motor. A 25.9kWh battery is part of the plug in hybrid system.

The setup gives the SUV strong performance. Its vehicle dynamics systems helped with changing surfaces, steep roads and thin mountain air. Passengers still got the comfort expected from a luxury SUV.

Lamborghini added local food, Ladakhi hospitality and cultural experiences to the six day programme. This gave the group time away from the cars and helped bring customers together.

The event also shows Lamborghini’s growing focus on India. The company sees the country as an important luxury market, with buyers looking for expensive products that can also be used in different situations.

Esperienza Terra India also took place during Lamborghini’s 63rd anniversary year. Since 1963, the company has built its name around bold cars and unusual ideas. The Ladakh drive fits that history.
Lamborghini says this was its highest altitude driving experience anywhere in the world. It was a chance to see what the Urus SE could do far from the usual luxury car environment.
