Hero Xpulse 421 Spied Again: New Test Bike Reveals Fresh Design And Feature Details

Hero MotoCorp is getting closer to bringing a bigger adventure motorcycle to India. A fresh spy video from Leh, Ladakh has once again captured the upcoming Hero Xpulse 421 during testing. Although the bike is still covered in camouflage, the latest sighting gives a better look at its design, hardware, and a few features that could be offered on the production model.

The motorcycle has already been spotted several times over the last few months, which suggests that testing is now moving ahead at a steady pace. Reports indicate that the production version could make its global debut later this year before reaching Indian showrooms in early 2027.

What the latest spy video shows

The new test mule reveals a number of details despite the heavy camouflage.

  • Tall windscreen for better wind protection
  • New rectangular LED headlamp
  • Large sculpted fuel tank
  • High-mounted handlebar
  • Hand guards
  • Slim single-piece seat
  • Upswept exhaust
  • Rear luggage rack with grab rails
  • Wire-spoke wheels with dual-purpose tyres
  • Disc brakes at both ends

The motorcycle also appears to offer good ground clearance, making it suitable for rough roads and off-road trails.

New engine and hardware expected

Hero is expected to power the Xpulse 421 with a completely new liquid-cooled engine.

The new engine is expected to deliver much stronger performance than the current Xpulse models. Spy videos also suggest that the motorcycle produces a deeper exhaust note.

Features likely to be offered

The Xpulse 421 is expected to get several premium features.

Some of the expected equipment includes:

  • Large TFT instrument display
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Ride-by-wire throttle
  • Multiple riding modes
  • Switchable rear ABS
  • Traction control
  • Cruise control
  • Full LED lighting

If these features make it to the production model, the Xpulse 421 will become Hero’s most feature-rich adventure motorcycle.

Launch timeline and rivals

Hero has not confirmed an official launch date yet. However, reports suggest the production version could be showcased at EICMA 2026. The India launch is expected during the first half of 2027.

The expected price is between Rs 2.70 lakh and Rs 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Once launched, the motorcycle will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure S.
