Hyundai Motor India Limited has introduced the updated IONIQ 5 in India with several changes. The electric SUV now gets a bigger battery, more range, and new features across design and technology. The model comes with a price tag of Rs 55.7 lakh (ex-showroom).
This update builds on the same electric platform but adds more usability for daily driving and longer trips.
Battery and driving range
One of the biggest updates comes in the battery pack. The SUV now uses a larger unit which improves range.
- 84 kWh battery pack
- Up to 690 km range as per ARAI
- Built on E GMP platform
The higher range helps reduce charging stops and makes long drives easier. Fast charging support is also present and can go up to 350 kW which helps in quick top ups.
Exterior design updates
On the outside, the car still keeps its unique look. The pixel style lighting is still there and continues to give it a unique identity. But there are small updates that make it look fresh.
- New front bumper design
- New rear bumper design
- Updated alloy wheels
- New rear spoiler
- Revised V garnish lighting
Skid plates at the front and rear add a tougher look. The design still stays clean and modern without going overboard.

Interior changes and comfort
Coming to the cabin, the layout feels similar but there are a few fresh touches. The space and comfort remain one of its strong points.
- New 3 spoke leather steering wheel
- Four dot illuminated design on steering
- Heated steering function
- Dual 12.3 inch screens for infotainment and cluster
The wireless charging pad has been redesigned. It now also gets physical controls for heated and ventilated seats which makes it easier to use while driving.
The cabin continues to feel airy and premium with good space for passengers.

Technology and connected features
The updated model brings more connected tech and software improvements.
- New ccNC system for navigation and controls
- Controller over the air updates
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Active sound design
There is also a new in car payment feature that lets users pay for EV charging directly through the screen along with a remote immobilization function through the Bluelink app which helps in case of theft.
Safety and driver assistance
Safety features have also been improved with a few new additions.
- Parking Collision Avoidance Assist rear
- Side parking distance warning
These features help while parking in tight spaces and add more confidence in city use.
Colour options and pricing
The SUV is available in multiple colour choices with a black interior theme.
- Gravity Gold Matte
- Midnight Black Pearl
- Titan Grey
- Optic White
The updated version is priced at Rs 55.7 lakh ex showroom, which is higher than before but brings a larger battery and added features.
