Harley Davidson X440 Launched: Starts from Rs 2.29 Lakhs

Harley-Davidson has launched the X440 in India, offering three variants at different price points. The base Denim variant starts at Rs 2.29 lakh, followed by the Vivid variant at Rs 2.49 lakh, and the top-spec S variant at Rs 2.69 lakh. These prices position the X440 approximately Rs 35,000 higher than the popular Royal Enfield Classic 350 (priced between Rs 1.93 lakh and Rs 2.21 lakh). However this launch was made possible by the collaboration of Hero Moto Corp and Harley Davidson. Hero will build this while Harley has focused on the design and the development of the X440.

Harley Davidson X440 Engine

Powering the X440 is a robust 440cc air-/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, generating 27hp of power at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. Additionally the motorcycle features a steel trellis frame, supported by a 43mm USD fork and twin shock absorbers. Braking duties are handled by a large 320mm front rotor, and dual-channel ABS comes as standard.

Harley Davidson X440 Ride and Features

With a seat height of 805mm and a weight of 190.5kg (with a fully fueled 13.5-litre tank), the X440 offers comfortable ergonomics.And It rides on MRF Zapper Hyke tires, with dimensions of 100/90-18 (front) and 140/70-17 (rear). The ground clearance stands at 170mm.

The X440 comes in three variants. The Denim variant features wire-spoke rims and minimal badging and looks absolutely classic, while the Vivid variant offers alloy wheels and dual-tone paint options. The top-spec S variant stands out with diamond-cut alloy wheels, machined engine cooling fins, 3D badging, and a color TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling navigation and notification alerts. Whereas the Denim variant is available in Mustard Yellow, while the Vivid variant comes in Metallic Thick Red or Metallic Dark Silver, and the top-spec S variant is offered in a stealthy Matte Black color. All variants come equipped with a standard USB charging port.

Harley assures that they have taken the iconic Harley rumble into consideration while designing it’s brand new 440cc engine. And it does sound really throaty.
