One of the renowned Italian carmakers, Ferrari has launched the convertible version of the 296 GTS in India. The GTS version is the cabriolet iteration of the hybrid mid-engined supercar, the 269 GTB. Ferrari has added a new rear screen and more weight with no significant change in performance.

The aesthetics of Ferrari 296 GTS
The overall exterior profile of the 296 GTS is identical to its coupe sibling, the 296 GTB. However, the GTS version has dropped its top and features a new retractable hardtop roof like the SF90 Spider. The carmaker has tweaked the design to create a bay behind the seats for accommodating the retractable roof. This roof can be opened in just 14 seconds at a speed of 45km/h or below.
To accommodate the retractable roof, the carmaker has added re-sculptured buttresses and a new step between the roof and the aero bridge. Ferrari has added a new window at the bottom of the engine cover and an adjustable rear screen for enhanced comfort. The tail gets a new active spoiler for better downforce and aerodynamics.

This powertrain setup results in a 0-100km/h timing in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h. The performance of this car is similar to the 296 GTB despite of additional weight of 70kgs.
