One of the prominent German carmakers, Mercedes-Benz, has officially unveiled the new generation of the E-Class sedan. The brand claims that the new generation of the sedan is more advanced, modern, and sleek.
The new generation of Mercedes E-Class boasts a slew of reminiscent of its elder sibling, the S-Class. However, the new E-Class will hit the Indian shores by next year.


Aesthetics and Dimensions of the New Mercedes E-Class
The new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class boasts a sleek and modern design language. As usual, the silhouette of the sedan is flamboyant. The dimensions of the new E-Class are larger than its predecessor model. For instance, the sedan now has 4,949 mm of length, 1880 mm of width, 1488 mm of height, and 2,961 mm of wheelbase. Moreover, the drag coefficient of the sedan is 0.23, resulting in better aerodynamics.
Upfront, the sedan features an EQE-inspired design at the front. The grille takes its inspiration from its electric version. And the headlamps and taillamps are slimmer than before. The taillamps feature the signature star motif for an enhanced profile. The sophistication of the new E-class is accentuated by the flush door handles and 21-inch wheels.

Interior and Features of the New Mercedes E-Class
Inside, the new generation Mercedes E-Class features premium beige interiors with a neat layout. The major highlight of the sedan is the new MBUX infotainment system with an enhanced and updated experience. The infotainment system will be available in 2 different versions. The optional Premium Plus MBUX will get the Augmented Reality feature.
The dashboard of the car is primarily dominated by the twin-screen display. Behind the unique steering wheel is the 12.3-inch advanced instrument cluster showing the vehicle’s various information. The portrait infotainment screen is a 14.4-inch unit and a separate screen for the front passenger.
Apart from regular features, the new E-Class gets various apps like TikTok, Angry Birds, Zoom, video recording, and Selfie cameras. The sedan also features the Level-4 ADAS system with driverless valet parking. The new generation of E-Class gets a digital vehicle key system for locking and unlocking purposes.

Powertrain options
The new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The E220 features a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo petrol motor churning out 203hp and 320nm of output. While the E300-e features a hybrid setup mated to a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine. This variant boasts a combined output of 313hp and 550nm and is available with an AWD system.
The E400-e will also feature a hybrid setup mated to the same 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine. This results in a combined output of 381hp and 650nm. The hybrid variants can also be driven in pure electric mode for a range of 100 km.
The E-Class will also be available with an E220d variant featuring a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This engine produces an impressive 197hp of power and 440nm of torque output.

The new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class will lock horns with its formidable rivals such as the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Jaguar XF, and Volvo s90.
