One of the leading players in the market, Maruti Suzuki has launched a new crossover, the Fronx. This crossover was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 for the expansion of the brand’s line-up. The latest sub-4 meter crossover is priced at Rs. 7.46 Lakhs making it ready to capture a wide audience in the market.
Safety and Platform of Maruti Fronx
The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx is based on the Heartact platform. This platform shares its underpinnings with a plethora of cars like Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, etc. However, the brand has brimmed it with plenty of safety features such as 6-Airbags, 3-point seat belts, ESP with hill assist, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, etc.
Aesthetics of Maruti Fronx
The Fronx is the latest offering from Maruti Suzuki, which boasts a gorgeous and stunning profile. The beauty of the front fascia is accentuated by LED DRLs, Wide Grille with chrome work, a fat aggressive bumper, and skid plates. While the side profile looks sporty, the Fronx sports roof rails and it sits on striking alloy wheels.
The design of the rear fascia is inspired by a sports coupe. However, the crossover gets a slew of elements to differentiate it from the hatchback sibling. The main highlight of the rear design is slim LED taillights which are connected by a lightbar in the tailgate. Meanwhile, the bumper gets vertical reflectors and an up-raised scuff plate.
Interior and Features
The interior of the new Maruti Fronx resembles quite a lot of other cars from the carmaker. The dashboard features the analog cluster with MID, a 3-spoke steering wheel, carbon accents on AC vents, and a dash panel. The floating-type 9-inch infotainment system features voice command, OTA updates, wireless Apple Carplay, and Android Auto-like amenities. But, the lower trims feature the 7-inch infotainment system with basic SmartPlay features. Other features include Keyless Go, Cruise Control, 360-degree camera, USB Charging ports, 6-speaker sound system, etc.
Powertrain Options
The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available with 2 petrol engine options. The base engine is a 1.2L 4-cylinder VVT unit churning out 89ps and 113nm of output. This engine is available with either a 5-Speed Manual Transmission or an AMT Transmission.
But, the real highlight of Maruti Fronx is the 1.0L 3-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol engine making 100ps and 148nm of output. This engine is available with either a 5-Speed Manual Transmission or a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission. The claimed fuel efficiency of Fronx is:
