Chinese electric vehicle automaker BYD has announced the opening of its new showroom in Kerala’s Calicut. From a strategic and business point of view, Kerala is a prime market for EVs witnessing a rapid growth in their sales and adoption.
The new showroom will be run and managed by EVM Southcoast. It is located near Kozhikode’s mini bypass road, opposite to Malabar Institute of Medical Science (MIMS), Calicut. With a vast experience in the automobile industry, EVM Southcoast already has an extensive reach with its business covering the state of Kerala.
BYD India aims to expand its reach to more than 53 showrooms by the end of this year.

The state-of-the-art showroom is spread across 3,600 square feet and has well-trained technicians, service equipment, and service bays. A customer lounge, and a showroom display floor ensures customers the best in-store experience.
The showroom was inaugurated by Mr. Thejus Xavier, Director of EVM Southcoast, and Mr. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, in the presence of senior officials of BYD India, EVM Southcoast and customers.
