Meet Porsche’s new lightweight sportscar, the 911 Carrera T. The letter ‘T’ stands for touring and it sits above the standard Carrera. If you ask Porsche what this new iteration of the 911 is all about, they’ll tell you that the Carrera T is built to offer a purist driving experience with exceptionally sporty equipment. The Porsche 911 Carrera T will be dispatched to dealers in February 2023 and bookings for the international markets have already commenced.

The 911 T sits in between the base 911 and the Carrera S. Look under the hood and you’d find a 3-litre Bi-turbo, flat-six boxer engine good for producing 385 PS and 450 Nm of torque transmitted via a 7-speed stick shifter as standard with an 8-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) also available as an option. The 911 T is also 10 mm lower featuring a PASM sports suspension.

The 911 Carrera T makes the dash from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds with its top speed coming up at 291 km/h. A mechanical real diff-lock picked up straight out of the Carrera S helps the 911 T launch and put its horsepower on the road properly. Additionally, an option for rear-axle steering is open on request. In order to shed some weight, the rear seats have been removed along with some amounts of insulation as well as less glass and a lighter battery. Also helping shed more weight is the removal of the 8-speed automatic transmission which is offered in the base version too. So, the Carrera T weighs in at 1470 kgs which is 35kgs lighter than the base trim of the 911.

The 911 T has dark grey accents all-round the body as its running theme with 20 or 21-inch Titanium grey wheels from the Carrera S, a GT sports steering wheel, a sports exhaust system with high-gloss black tailpipes and a 4-way Sports seat plus. Door logos and exterior mirrors come in the Agate grey contrast colour. The 911 Carrera T is available in four solid colours including Black, White, Guards Red and Racing Yellow as well as in the four metallic finishes of Deep Black, Gentian Blue, Ice Grey and GT Silver. Buyers can also have their 911 T in Chalk, Ruby Star Neo, Carmine Red, Shark Blue and Python Green as special colours.

The 911 Carrera T is rounded off by its sporty black interiors which feature matte black decorative trim and glossy inlays. Buyers looking for more distinction can also have their T in the optional interior package that gets two contrasting colours, either Lizard Green or Slate Grey on the safety belts, decorative stitching, the embossed 911 logo on the seat headrests, stripes running down the seat centres and floor mats.
