2021 Aprilia RS 125 And Tuono 125 Unveiled In Italy

At one point of time, it was pretty much confirmed that we will be getting the Aprilia Tuono 150 and RS 150 in India. The Italian marque also showcased both the motorcycles at the Auto Expo to gauge the public’s response but later on, the brand started focusing more and more on its gearless scooters. While there isn’t any new development regarding their arrival, the company has showcased the 2021 iteration of the Tuono 125 and RS 125 in Italy.

Just a glance and you know these pocket rockets take design inspiration from their elder siblings.

Aprilia RS 125 2021

Up front, the updated headlight assembly will instantly remind you of the one found in the SXR 160 and the SXR 125. The similarities don’t end here as both the motorcycles also feature the same  LCD instrument console found on the maxi-scooters.  These Aprilia twins continue to be powered by the 124cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, but they are now Euro5 compliant. Despite the Euro5 transition, the 2021 RS 125 and the Tuono 125 haven’t lost any power. They continue to produce 15.2PS at 10,750rpm — the maximum permissible output as per European regulations for bikes of this class. Other changes on the bikes include an improved dual-channel ABS unit and a fatter rear tyre.

Both the motorcycles ride on 17-inch alloy wheels suspended by inverted forks and a monoshock. Braking is handled by a disc at both ends with a dual-channel ABS setup. However, the brand hasn’t specified if it has many any changes to the internals of the suspension and the braking equipment.

What can we expect from Aprilia India?

It is highly unlikely that the company will be launching the 125cc twins in India because as we mentioned earlier, Aprilia is currently focusing on its scooter lineup as far as its India operations are considered. Aprilia is gearing up to officially launch the SXR 125 maxi-scooter in India. As the name suggests, it’s a 125cc derivative of the SXR 160 – otherwise known as one of the most premium scooters you can get in India.

The SXR 125 is available for pre-orders in the country; so, if you are interested, head to Aprilia India’s official website, where you will be able to book one of these babies for yourself for a mere ₹5,000.  Ahead of its launch, the price of the soon-to-be-launched Aprilia SXR 125 has been officially revealed. The Aprilia SXR 125 will retail at Rs 1.16 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
