Nissan India announced a price increase across its Nissan and Datsun range of models. The move, according to the company, comes in the wake of increasing input costs. The prices of Nissan and Datsun models in the country will rise by up to INR 30,000, effective January 2017.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said that the price increase comes as a result of rising input costs. The revision of prices will help them offset the impact of this and maintain their competitiveness in the industry.
Prior to Nissan, companies such as Tata Motors and Hyundai India have announced price hikes of up to INR 25,000 and INR 1 lakh respectively.
