EICMA 2016 : New Suzuki GSX250R arrives in Europe

The new Suzuki GSX250R, which was unveiled at the 2016 China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition, has now made its European debut at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle show. The quarter litre Suzuki sports is a silhouette of its bigger sibling with similarly styled full fairing, the trademark, tapering headlamp, and a meaty exhaust canister.

The new headlight is accompanied by LED pilot lamps on either side while the tail light is a LED unit. The GSX250R features a reverse-lit LCD instrument panel. Readouts include the speedometer, tachometer, gear position and RPM indicator, odometer, dual trip meters, fuel gauge, average fuel consumption and oil change timing indicators, and a clock.

The motorcycle draws power from a 248cc parallel twin engine that is claimed to have undergone thorough analysis and optimisation to maximise low- to mid-range torque. The 248 cc DOHC twin cylinder liquid cooled engine that can deliver 18.4kW or 25 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 23.4 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm

The motorcycle gets newly designed 10-spoke wheels pairs with tyres that are aimed to provide strong grip on the road. Stopping power is provided by petal-type front and rear disc brakes. The GSX250R also gets an Antilock Brake System (ABS) made by Bosch.
