Only a few minutes back, we reported that the BMW 7 Series LCI, which is nothing but the 7 Series facelift, has been launched in Malaysian car market and is on its way to India. The BMW 7 Series is an important model for the Bavarian car maker and has been clocking decent sales at most of the countries it is sold in. The BMW 7 Series battles it out against the Mercedes Benz S Class and the Audi A8 among others and is the most cosseting car in the popular German premium car maker’s line up. The BMW 7 Series is such a well sorted out package that even the Ghost luxury car, from BMW owned British luxury car maker Rolls Royce, is based on the 7 Series.
While the recent facelift will enable the current generation of 7 Series to soldier on for a couple of years more, BMW is already busy with the development of the next generation of its flagship luxury saloon.
The next BMW 7 Series (Codename- G11) will be considerably larger and will come with even more space for rear passengers. The new 7 Series is expected to come with an array of new safety features and gizmos that should make the car as equipped as the next S Class.
The new BMW 7 Series is expected to be unveiled in 2015 and will be billed as the 2016 model.
It remains to be seen if the 2016 BMW 7 Series will be a potent match for the upcoming 2014 Mercedes S Class.
