Button takes the 2009 title!

After a disastrous qualifying session, which sent Button at the tail end of the gird, the Brit bounced back on Sunday with a champion’s drive. While Button consistently overtook his opponents, his team mate, Rubens Barrichello was leading the race ahead of his championship contenders. But as usual, fate betrayed Barrichello once again at Interlegos as the Brazilian lost out valuable positions in the pits. This gave Button the much needed advantage as he raced to the fifth place on the gird and took the points lead over his contenders. While Webber won the race, Kubica and Hamilton settled for 2nd and 3rd respectively. As these three celebrated their wins on the podium, the Brawn pit had a much bigger celebration as they clinched the Driver’s as well as Constructor’s championship.
