Mahindra E2O has been around for some time now, though it hasn’t done too well in the mineral fuel oriented Indian market. Low range, long charging times and sluggish performance are some of the reasons why people are not inclined towards buying such vehicles. Mahindra has tried to address two of those problems with its E2O Sport electric car showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. A sporty and technologically advanced version of the vanilla E2O, the E2O sport gets more power, longer range and a whole bunch of body kits, to make it look, well, sporty.
The key highlight of the E2O sport is its claimed range of 200 km, thanks to its 80kw power train. Like all EVs, maximum torque is available from 0rpm, endowing the E2O with a 0-60km/h sprint time of 4 seconds, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8 seconds. The car also gets a 384V high voltage power pack.
In its Sport avatar, the E2O gets some funky decals all across its body, along with extended win like bumper, striking headlamps, flared wheel arches and side skirts. The 12 spoke dark alloys look pretty dapper too.
Finishing things up in a grand fashion at the rear are a massive bumper with a huge diffuser underneath and a roof mounted spoiler.
