Seen here is a speculative rendering of the new Mazda CX-3 that should be launched sometime late 2014/early 2015.
The CX-3 mini SUV will play the perfect baby brother to the CX-5 and CX-9 SUVs and will be based on the Mazda2 city car.
The Mazda CX-3 will sport the carmaker’s new family look that features the five-point grille connected to the headlights via a strip of chrome and the upcoming mini SUV will be developed using the automaker’s Skyactiv technologies to keep the weight under check.
Powering the car will be the new.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will also make it to the Mazda2 and next generation Mazda3.
Also on the cards is a 1.6-litre turbo diesel that will be high on efficiency and low on emissions. The CX3 will have a clever seating layout with rear seats that will fold flat at the touch of a button.
