Harley Davidson to Unveil ‘Made-for-India’ Entry Level Cruiser in 2014

It has emerged that Harley-Davidson, the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world, has some serious plans for the rapidly growing Indian bike market. Harley Davidson India plans to come up with an entry level cruiser bike tailor made for India.

Harley Davidson India has an assembly plant in Haryana and this makes India the second country outside of US to have a Harley-Davidson assembly plant.

It is being said that senior Harley Davidson officials from US and India have been in talks with many Indian vendors to set up a manufacturing unit and a vendor base for producing new India-spec bikes. The first of these bikes would be unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and the upcoming bike would be powered by a 400-500cc V-twin motor.

The ‘Made for India’ Harley Davidson bike would cost somewhere in tune of INR 3.5-4 lakhs and would compete with KTM 390 Duke, Ninja 300R and Honda CBR500 family in terms of pricing.
