Ford India officially unveiled its Figo Aspire sedan for India a few days back on the sidelines of the grand opening of its $1 billion plant in Sanand. We reported live from the event, told you everything you needed to know about the car’s engines and features. We also gave you a detailed design review, though we could not get a peek inside the cabin to update you about the interiors.
Now, the Facebook page of Car and Bike Show, a popular auto show on NDTV has put up some images of the new compact sedan’s interior, and must we say, it look quite impressive. Here’s a list of all the things we could decipher from the images
- The entire dashboard is unmistakably Ford with the top part finished in black and lower part in beige
- No two-tone treatment for the seats
- The images are that of the Titanium variant, the top of the line trim level of the car
- In interior has been given a two-tone, black-beige treatment
- Beige finished door panels with some leather padding and piano black inserts
- The Aspire will be equipped with Ford’s SYNC with AppLink
- Center Console mimics that of the Ford Ecosport and Fiesta, and should have similar functionality in all likelihood
- 12V power outlet, along with an Aux-in and USB socket with Ford Sync branding above it
- A/C control knobs with chrome bezels – the car will almost surely have climate control
- Height adjustable seat belts
- No Push button engine start / stop
- All new instrument cluster with three dials indicating speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge – white font on black dials
- Height adjustable driver’s seat
- A lot of space in front door panels, sufficient to hold bottles bigger than 1 liter and then some
- Overall fit-finish looks top notch for the segment
- Hi quality buttons, knobs and stalks
- Round side A/C vents with chrome bezels
- Nicely finished, short-length shifter stick in black with 5-speed markings in conventional pattern and chrome inlay
- Seats look comfortable and very supportive. Ford is providing adjustable headrests and not cutting corners like some other cars in the segment. Those seats look best-in-class.
- We can see a bottle / cup holder between the front seats
- No rear A/C vents
- Legroom at the backseat appears good
- We can see a central armrest for the rear seats
- Rear door pulls finished in black
- Rear door panels do not seem to have space for bottles – this is a downer.
- The back of the front seats has been scooped out for more rear knee room and also features pockets
- As mentioned officially by Ford, the Figo Aspire will get a device dock to store, mount and charge mobile phones, MP3 players and satellite navigation systems, as well as integrate these devices into the car’s entertainment system.
- Power mirrors, with controls on the window panel
- Piano black inserts for the door panels
- Steering wheel similar to the Ecosport, albeit with piano black inserts instead of the former’s silver
- Steering mounted controls for audio and Sync visible
- As mentioned in the press release, we can see leather seats on the car – a segment first
